The Protective Quality of Foam

Posted on | January 24, 2012 | Comments Off

Anybody who has handled a piece of manufactured foam might be a little bit surprised to learn that one its key advantages is durability. Some foam might be fragile, however some is unbeatably tough and used as very a reliable form of packaging.

Not all foam is the same. The beauty of the material is that it can be produced in a huge range of forms, and with very contrasting attributes. For example, you may want to use foam for purely aesthetic purposes, or you may have a specific functional gap you need to fill – in either case there is a foam product for you.

Commonly, it is the protective power of foam that is valued most. As a result, you will find foam ubiquitously in product manufacture and packaging especially. Chip foam and egg crate foam form an important part of our packaging infrastructure, and they are used to protect all sorts of goods practically and cost-effectively.

Foam can be produced in a range of densities. The more dense the foam the more protective it will be, plus it will be more insulating. High density foam can be used to protect against noise pollution for example,  and is frequently used in soundproofing.

At Technical Foam Services we are leading rubber and foam suppliers. Our customers use our protective foam because they deliver an unsurpassed level of protection, in lots of different ways: from the protection of products to the protection of people.
